A: There may be trace amounts of THC but we can assure you that it is less than 0.3%. This is because full spectrum hemp oil extracts contain significant quantities of cannabidiol (CBD) and also contain trace amounts of over 100 other helpful cannabinoids including THC. Drug test results depend largely on the detection goal of the test being used. So the result may vary depending on whether the test is designed to measure delta-9 THC  or “total cannabinoids.”

Because the molecular weight of cannabidiol is very close to the molecular weight of THC, we advise informing the person collecting the sample that you have consumed a hemp oil extract containing cannabidiol recently. A positive reading of the results may also occur if the technician confuses cannabidiol for THC when interpreting the test result.
